| Chief Fire Officers Association get
the Message
The Chief Fire Officers Association
is now using text messaging to get vital news to its
members.
This organisation is working with
Worcester based FASTSMS to enable it to contact its
members instantly. David Turner, Director of Communications
at the Chief Fire Officers Association, is the Chief
Fire Officer in Essex, he explains how they are using
FASTSMS:
"Our organisation is a professional
membership association. There are 58 fire brigades in
the UK and all of the principal management officers
are members. We've got 188 people on the FASTSMS distribution
list so we can get information to our members quickly."
Mr Turner continued: "It is really
important to us that our members feel included and vital
that they hear news regarding important issues such
as; pay, pensions, or government announcements regarding
fire safety, from us first. The feedback says that FASTSMS
has been really well received by our members."
Due to the reliability and low cost,
FASTSMS is rapidly being adopted by organisations, schools
and businesses as the new communication tool.
David Pride, FASTSMS Business Manager
said; "Anyone can use FASTSMS to send out important
information to any mobile phone. It is easy to use,
yet powerful; It can be used by anyone needing to communicate
with customers, colleagues or family and friends instantly,
reliably and cost effectively. You can also receive
text messages - and read them as standard email. Text
messaging has now 'grown-up' and is being widely adopted
by businesses & organisations to improve their communications.
We are very happy to have been chosen by the Chief Fire
Officers Association as their service provider."
