SMS API (Application Programming Interface)

sms gateway apiAn application programming interface (API) is an interface implemented by a software program to enable interaction with other software, much in the same way that a user interface facilitates interaction between humans and computers.

APIs are implemented by applications, libraries and operating systems to determine the vocabulary and calling conventions the programmer should employ to use their services.

It may include specifications for routines, data structures, object classes and protocols used to communicate between the consumer and implementer of the API.

Most commonly the Fastsms SMS API will be used to integrate the SMS messaging platform with client or third party software such as CRM, transaction processing and messaging applications.

Fastsms offers access to their SMS API on all accounts, this is available using the following programming protocols; HTTP, SMTP, FTP/SCP and XML.

Supporting documentation with sample scripting for PHP, ASP.net and XML is also provided. We also offer both pHp and .NET SDKs free of charge which makes the entire integration process easier and quicker in most instances.

A general overview of the SMS API is provided on the main website here. Full detail, including manuals and code examples, is available in our Developer Zone. You also have the option of chatting with one of our technical team using the Chat button at the bottom of the page.
